Bio oil upgrading with special regard to the pyrolytic lignin
Bio oil upgrading with special regard to the pyrolytic lignin
The research project proposed will investigate and compare the conversion of model mixtures and bio-oils through catalytic hydrotreatment in batch and continuous reactors, applying bimetallic catalysts based on nickel in order to optimize the conversion of bio-oil into high value-added chemicals compounds. By analysis of key-substances during hydrodeoxygenation important information about the underlying reaction mechanisms should be derived, in particular in regard to the reactivity of the constituents of the complex bio-oil mixture. From operation of a continuously operated mini-plant basic design data for an upgrading process will be obtained.
